Groundbreaking Ceremony for new Courtyard Marriott in Alpharetta, GA

Hotel Development Partners (HDP) recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Courtyard by Marriott Alpharetta, located across the street from Avalon. It was announced that Hotel Equities will manage the 115-room Courtyard by Marriott, with an expected opening in late 2018.
Big Apple Circus Brings the Big Top to Alpharetta January 2018

BigTop Works, the new producers of BIG APPLE CIRCUS, have announced Alpharetta’s Verizon Amphitheatre as the opening stop on the National Tour during its historic and critically acclaimed 40th anniversary season. The full lineup of global artists and acts including 10-time world record-holding high wire artist Nik Wallenda, and fan favorite Grandma the Clown will dazzle and entertain circus goers January 26 – February 25, 2018, for a total of 48 shows over the almost five-week run. Alpharetta is the only stop currently scheduled on this National Tour in the southeast.

Alpharetta to land NASA’s Mars Rover Concept Vehicle

NASA’s Mars Rover concept vehicle, designed for navigating the demanding landscape of Mars, will be making a landing in Alpharetta on Saturday, August 12 from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. at North Point Mall. As part of its very limited east coast tour, Alpharetta will be the final stop in the Southeast before it returns to its permanent home at the Rocket Garden, Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Florida. Previous tour cities include Washington D.C., New York and New Jersey.
A Magical Princess Encounter at the Alpharetta Welcome Center

Alpharetta’s Old Soldiers Day Parade & Race Honors Veterans for 65 Years

Honor and celebrate war veterans at the Old Soldiers Day Parade and Road Race hosted by The City of Alpharetta and American Legion Post 201 on Saturday, August 5. The 8K road race will start off the day at 7:00am in Wills Park behind the pool. Register to participate for a small fee. Then, at 9:15am, parade festivities begin and will take place all throughout downtown Alpharetta.

The top three teams in each division will qualify to compete at the PGF National Championships this Summer. These teams will compete against 300 other teams that qualified across the country.
