Celebrate Freedom this Independence Day Weekend in Alpharetta

In Events & Entertainment, Food + Drink

As we approach Independence Day, there is no better way to honor the sweet freedoms we enjoy as Americans than by exercising your freedom to choose from the many exciting activities available in Alpharetta all weekend long! Whether cooling off in the pool, savoring icy treats, or watching fireworks burst across a beautiful evening sky, fantastic festivities await your family and friends in Alpharetta.

For live music that will blow your socks off, head over to The Plaza on Friday, July 1 from 6-8 p.m. for Avalon Nights Live, where you can jam to live music and dance the night away with friends and family. While you aren’t required to purchase tickets, we recommend arriving early and bring a blanket or lawn chairs to claim your space on the green. Purchase beverages from the event bar and grab a bite from any of Avalon’s more than 20 restaurants.

Reserve a table for the group, pack a picnic dinner, and get ready to experience the fabulously funky Southern charm of Matilda’s Music Under the Pines. Pack Your Picnic Basket with Fresh Finds

Alpharetta Farmers Market, Downtown Alpharetta

You’ll find everything you need to create the perfect Fourth of July feast at the Alpharetta Farmers Market on Saturday, July 2 from 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Did you know that peach season is at its peak during Georgia’s summer months? There’s nothing more American than a peach cobbler a la mode made with juicy Georgia peaches on a warm, sunny Fourth of July. Find prime peaches, succulent strawberries, fresh florals, buttery baked goods, lovable lattes, jammin’ jellies and much, much more.

Celebrate The Arts

To honor freedom for all, look no further than the Alpharetta Arts Center where the “Juneteenth: What Freedom Means to Me” Art Exhibit is open to the public. This exhibit honors June 19, 1865, the date that enslaved men and women in Texas were finally notified that they were free.

Red, White & Booms

A hush falls over the crowd as children twirl sparklers in anticipation of an American tradition like no other. Celebrate our great nation with Alpharetta’s 4th of July Fireworks at Wills Park on Monday, July 4. Once dusk falls, fireworks fly upwards to fill the sky with blazes of red, zaps of blue, punches of pinks, and cool designs that light up starstruck eyes. You will be able to watch the fireworks from multiple places throughout the city and whether you’re holding hands with your honey as the fireworks fly or entertaining the young ones, you’ll be thrilled you made time for the show.
