Legendary Trumpeter Longineau Parsons, II
October 17 @ 7:30 pm - 11:00 pm

Longineu Warren Parsons II is a highly accomplished and versatile musician whose life has been shaped by a deep love of both jazz and classical traditions. A classically trained trumpeter, he holds degrees in music and composition (including advanced studies at the University of Florida), and has supplemented his grounding with jazz studies at Berklee. Over the course of a storied career, he has performed and recorded with legends such as Nat Adderley, Cab Calloway, Sun Ra, Branford Marsalis, Nancy Wilson, and Archie Shepp. Parsons is also an educator: he serves as an Associate Professor of Music at Florida A&M University, where he mentors the next generation of musicians in trumpet, composition, and jazz studies.
