La Candela Flamenco: Once Upon a Winter in Spain

Discover a side of the holidays you won’t find anywhere else in Atlanta. La Candela Flamenco presents “Once Upon a Winter in Spain,” a brand-new holiday production that uses storytelling, live music and flamenco dance to bring winter traditions from all over Spain to life, from Catalonia’s Tió de Nadal to the Angulero of Asturias and the festive zambombas of Andalusia. Led by dancer and artistic director Ania La Candela, the company blends traditional flamenco with Latin, classical and world music. Its Atlanta-based artists come from Poland, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela and the U.S., united by a shared love of flamenco and Spanish culture. Together, they invite audiences of every background into the rhythm and color of the Spanish holiday season. Create new holiday memories with family, a date or friends at a celebration for the curious, the young and the young at heart.
