“Harlem Renaissance” Does Alpharetta

In the 1920’s, Harlem became a rich, cultural center for the arts among the Black/African American community. This period produced historic and important representations of life in the African American community through music, literature, poetry, and visual art. In celebration of Black History Month, join us for the following arts experiences:

6:00 – 6:30 – Sculpture Installation Unveiling
Unveiling of Alpharetta Arts Center’s original Play Me Again, Ekfrasis, re-imagined by artist and Arts Alpharetta board member, Shelton Cochran.
6:30 – 8:30 – Studio Gallery Exhibition opening
In celebration of Black History Month, come to the Alpharetta Arts Center’s Studio Gallery exhibit, “Harlem Renaissance” Does Alpharetta, featuring 4 local artists.
Through February 2023
6:30 – 8:30 – Concert and Performance

In celebration of Black History Month, come to the Alpharetta Arts Center’s Black Box Theater for a concert and performance, “Harlem Renaissance” Does Alpharetta, featuring The KT Collaborative and presentation of the Spoken Word.
Light food and beverage served, Free to public.
