Community watch events are a beloved tradition during major international soccer competitions. While the Atlanta Host Committee and Awesome Alpharetta are not responsible for managing these events, local businesses and organizations are welcome to host their own viewing experiences.
Depending on the size of your event and whether you plan to monetize attendance or sponsorships, different guidelines and permissions may apply.
Types of Public Viewing Events
Non-Commercial Events
- Small gatherings with under 1,000 attendees
- No commercial benefit (no ticketing, fees, or sponsoring brands)
- Typical venues: restaurants, bars, hotels
- No license or fee required
Special Non-Commercial Events
- Community gatherings with more than 1,000 people
- Must remain non-commercial
- License required (reviewed by broadcast rights holders)
- Fees and technical requirements may apply
Commercial Events
- Any viewing party involving revenue (tickets, sponsorships, promotions, branded activations)
- License required
- The rights-holding media partners determine fees and technical setup costs
