The Velvet Note is an award-winning, beautifully-appointed listening room in Alpharetta, Georgia.  The sound stage hosts a true classic—a 1924 Baldwin M series baby grand piano. Enjoy shows on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. On Wednesday’s from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. enjoy the Velvet Note’s OASIS After Work.  Come when you want…stay as long as you wish. This is your music sanctuary, enveloped in the aura of our custom-designed Dannelly sound system.    It’s the place where you can hear the beat of your own heart.

The David Baker Trio is an internationally touring group of musicians who all met at the University of Northern Colorado. Pianist Alexandra Sjobeck studied at the Manhattan School of Music and played extensively in the New York scene, the drummer is a student of Jeff Hamilton and a resident of the Seattle scene, and Baker is originally an Atlanta native and has played recently with the New York Voices, Javon Jackson, Tamir Hendelman, Conrad Herwig, Clay Jenkins, and Greg Gisbert.

Karla Harris’ vocal style surges from vulnerable to powerful and back again, integrating both a warmth and vigor into the jazz, pop and soul influences she weaves between. Known for nuanced jazz vocals that bring a sophisticated ease and dynamic delivery, Karla’s repertoire spans genres and styles, drawing on standards and classics in jazz and pop. She blends boundaries with subtlety, remaining respectful to the roots of each song. Her art lies not only in expansive vocals but also in a knack for tapping into the emotion of a song and delivering it fully. She has made a career within the art form she loves for more than three decades, performing for audiences from Portland to Provence.


Chieli Minucci & Special EFX

Chieli Minucci was born in NYC, and grew up in nearby Forest Hills, Queens, where he still resides. Chieli has earned 10 Emmy Award nominations for his music on the long-running NBC daytime drama “The Guiding Light” and has won 3. He has also been the main producer for Universal Music’s, Gotham Music Library, having written and recorded over 100 CDs. These CDs are geared toward such niche directions as extreme sports, inspirational, patriotic, orchestral, even contemporary folk. In 2003, Special EFX released the well-received Party, which featured the popular single “Ladies Man.” In 2005 Chieli Minucci released Got it Goin’ On which spawned the top five hit “The Juice.” It was followed by the DVD, A Night with Chieli Minucci & Special EFX, which showcased a high-octane performance recorded at the world famous Harbourfront Centre Theatre in Toronto.
