Staying in and social distancing are efforts everyone is practicing. And while these efforts are incredibly important for public health, it can be difficult to maintain a routine, especially a fitness routine, when your schedule has been completely turned on its head. Thankfully, several Alpharetta fitness and art studios are offering online classes to help you keep up your fitness and creativity from the comfort and safety of your home. Check out the businesses below offering virtual classes in everything from to yoga to painting pottery!

Get Your Daily Dose of Zen

It can be challenging to find a quiet moment when life gets hectic and uncertain, however those are the times when it’s most important to make sure you’re taking care of yourself. For those looking for a low-impact workout where they can re-center in their living rooms, Oya Yoga Studio is offering virtual classes through Zoom from now until April 12. Their schedule can be found on their website or on the MINDBODY app. Or, if you want to mix things up every day, Avalon retailer lululemon is hosting 15- to 30-minute live classes every day on their Instagram channel ranging from guided meditation to HIIT classes.

Keep Your Body Moving

If you’re looking to really burn some calories from your home, Alpharetta has plenty of gyms offering virtual classes that will get your heartrate up! Check out Core 57’s schedule of live classes, which target a different area of the body each class. The schedule is updated weekly on their Facebook page and classes are open to all Core 57 members. The Barre Code is also hosting online barre fitness classes with moves based off of classic ballet positions, for their 30-day “TBC & Chill” program which strives to keep their members “physically strong and mentally calm” during these days at home. Burn Boot Camp will also be posting online HIIT workouts and is offering a free 14-day trial, perfect for anyone at home for the next two weeks. Orangetheory Fitness Alpharetta is also offering daily online classes through Facebook and Instagram Live.

Activate Your Creativity

Once you’ve gotten in a good workout and want to get out some creative energy, stop by All Fired Up or Painting with a Twist Alpharetta to pick up an arts supplies kit to take home. All Fired Up is making it easy for you and your family to paint your own pottery from the comfort of your home. Simply pick up the supplies and unfinished artwork from the shop, paint it at home, then drop it back off to be fired. They’ll let you know when it’s finished. Painting with a Twist is offering take-home painting kits as well as virtual classes. Reserve your kit online for the class of your choice, then stop by Painting with a Twist to pick it up. Follow along with the video prepared by one of the shop’s artists, or work at your own pace with the instructions provided.

Whether you want to re-center, feel the burn, or just release some creative energy, Alpharetta has plenty of businesses with offerings that will keep your mind and body active while you’re social distancing.
