St. Paddy’s Day is nearly upon us. Whether you’re Irish or not—whether green is your color or not—we can all get behind a little mid-March celebration complete with chartreuse-tinged beers and plenty of good vibes to go around! Here’s how we suggest you get your Erin go Bragh on in Awesome Alpharetta:
Luck of Avalon – March 15, 2019
Perfect for lads, lassies, and even the littlest leprechauns, Luck of Avalon is back on Friday, March 15, for its fifth year! Avalon goes green (literally!) with tons of live entertainment, opportunities to shake your shamrock, and enough Irish flair that you’ll swear you know where the gold’s at, this is one St. Paddy’s celebration you won’t want to miss!
Shamrockin’ for a Cure – March 23, 2019
This year’s event is the eleventh year of partying with a purpose. All proceeds from ShamRockin’ for a Cure go directly to support the development of new drugs to fight Cystic Fibrosis (CF), improve the quality of life for those with CF, and ultimately to find a cure for the disease. Held at Ameris Bank Amphitheatre (formerly Verizon Amphitheatre), this “doing-good-while-wearing-green” party is a sea of Cystic Fibrosis supporters—eating, drinking, dancing, celebrating St. Patrick’s Day for an important cause that affects 30,000 people in the United States. Fan favorite ‘80s tribute band The Breakfast Club Chicago is back this year with tracks from everything from Cindy Lauper to Prince. Sing along and get your dance on from 7 p.m. to midnight. And when you need to fuel up to keep the party going strong, you’ll have your pick of seriously delicious sustenance. From traditional pub fare from Olde Blind Dog Irish Pub to sweet treats from Nothing Bundt Cakes, tasty tacos from Ceviche to sugary goodness from Da Vinci’s Donuts, and plenty more to soak up all that green beer, Shamrockin’ for a Cure has you covered!
Hit up the local hops-stops
If you’re more of a thirsty lil’ leprechaun, Alpharetta has plenty of unique beer-sippin’ locales to quench your thirst (because searching for the end of the rainbow can certainly leave you parched!). At Jekyll Brewing, you’ll find a new brew that is just perfect for the St. Patrick’s Day holiday: Erin Go Braugh, a rich Irish coffee porter. They also have a variety of Southern-inspired beers in fascinating flavors like Pineapple Habanero Hop Dang Diggity and Southern Juice IPA. For a legit Belgian-style brew, be sure to hit up Currahee Brewing Company and order the Frankenstark, a deceptively smooth sipper clocking in at a whopping 8.2% alcohol by volume. And the malty magic doesn’t stop there! Cool watering holes like Butcher & Brew, Barleygarden Kitchen & Craft Bar, and Truck & Tap Alpharetta also offer tons of beer on tap. Slainte! (an Irish Gaelic toast to good health)
