Autumn Indulgences of Every Kind in Alpharetta

In Food + Drink

Don’t let the 90-degree weather fool you. It’s fall, y’all! And you know what that means: pumpkin spice EVERYTHING! Even if you’re not feeling the PSL vibes, the rich, warming flavors associated with autumn carry a sort of comfort that reminds us that the holiday season (and eventually cooler temps!) will be here before we know it. Here are a few of our favorite indulgences to fall into this season:

1) Black Walnut Café’s Pumpkin Ravioli

Peppered bacon plus house-made pumpkin Pavia sauce equals a whole bunch of yum! This carby creation from Black Walnut Café offers layers of hearty flavors from the addition of sage brown butter, dried cranberries, roasted garlic, walnuts, red onion, Marie Cheese, and a generous slice of garlic bread. Lovely as the changing leaves and sure to fill you with fall feels, this is a seasonal must-try!

2) Piece of Cake’s Pumpkin Spice Layer Cake

You can’t have indulgence without dessert, and this hunk of cake delivers! Incredible cream cheese frosting is slathered atop a cushy slab of buttermilk pumpkin cake. With just the right hint of cinnamon and clove, this layer cake wonder creates a cozy appeal that’ll make you want to break the Uggs out.

3) Fall brews at Branch & Barrel

As the leaves change, we see the rise of bready beers that pair perfectly with football and your favorite scarf! Be sure to hit up Branch & Barrel for their Brooklyn Oktoberfest (a next-level Marzen-style brew with light hop bitters and a fresh-baked aroma) and Pontoon Brewing’s Pecan Pie Paradise Milk Porter (a sippable pecan pie porter boasting hand-roasted pecans, vanilla, cinnamon, milk sugar, and muscovado brown sugar). Who says fall sips have to be limited to the PSL? Get your autumn on with these deep-hued, heavily flavored brews.

4) Restaurant Holmes’ Early Fall Salad

How can a salad be indulgent? Quite simply put: when it’s topped with chargrilled steak! This Early Fall Salad features briny salsa vera cruz and delicate squash alongside the melt-in-your-mouth STK the restaurant is known for. Restaurant Holmes elevates salad to dinner-worthy next levels with this autumnal take.

5) Pumpkin 5-Spice at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams

Pumpkin spice is one thing—but pumpkin 5 spice? That means your jack-o-lantern has a bit more bite. Known for their creative ice creams and just-so-crazy-it-works flavor pairings, this ultra-fall favorite takes roasted sweet heirloom pumpkins and blends them with cream and soul-warming spices like ginger, fennel, cinnamon, star anise, and white pepper. The result is a punched up pumpkin delight that’s anything but basic.
