Alpharetta eateries that won’t derail those New Year’s resolutions!

In Food + Drink

If you’re one of the millions of Americans who has vowed to be healthier in 2019, you’re likely on the lookout for great ways to get your steps in or places to break a solid sweat—even while you’re on the go. However, many folks start to get a little nervous about how they’ll keep their commitment to overall wellness when there are countless restaurants advertising decadent desserts and deep-fried fabulousness. Not to worry, though! In Alpharetta, we’re proud to play host to plenty of good-for-you dining spots that go far beyond boring old salads. Be sure to check out these four healthy food havens to keep your goals (and your body) going strong:

1) Kale Me Crazy

Don’t let the name fool you—Kale Me Crazy is rife with more than just leafy green goodness (though they definitely have plenty of that, too)! New to the Alpharetta food scene, Kale Me Crazy is the perfect combination of nourishing, delicious, and convenient. From avocado toast on rich Ezekiel Bread to poke bowls packed with protein and even ultra-hip shots in flavors like ginger, wheatgrass, and even aloe vera, you’re certain to find something to satisfy your cravings while keeping your fitness on the right track. Kale Me Crazy also scores major bonus points for having plenty of options for vegans, vegetarians, and those with gluten sensitivity and other food allergies.

2) Vitality Bowls

Billed as a Superfood Café, Vitality Bowls serves up a big, ol’ scoop of yum in the form of acai bowls. All the rage in the wellness community, acai bowls look a little like ice cream and taste a lot like a thick, refreshing smoothie. Loaded with antioxidants, acai serves as a great base for other healthy ingredients like organic granola, coconut milk, flax seed, bananas, and strawberries. We highly recommend the Tropic Bowl as a nutrient-rich way to transport your taste buds to the islands! Not into using your spoon? Be sure to check out Vitality Bowls’ power-packed menu of smoothies, salads, juices, paninis, and more!

3) Farm to Ladle

Locally-sourced produce and herbs take center stage at this tasty Avalon café. While you’ll find plenty of salads and sandwiches at Farm to Ladle, as the name indicates, soup is the real star of the show at this quick-and-easy eatery. The Tomato Basil Bisque is gluten-free, vegetarian, and filled to the brim with the rich flavors of cream and pomodoro tomatoes kissed by savory-sweet basil. If you’re looking to add a little crunch to your lunch, be sure to check out the Detox Slaw, a mix of kale, green cabbage, carrots, and black sesame seeds tossed in a slaw vinaigrette with a touch of heart-healthy and insulin-improving apple cider vinaigrette.

4) 3:8 Juice

While none of us are exactly running out to drink our dinners, cold-pressed juices like the ones served at 3:8 Juice can be an excellent addition to any diet and definitely pack tons of fresh fruits and veggies in just a single serving. 3:8 Juice boasts a wealth of bright, sippable combinations featuring a variety of fresh produce. We love “The Dahlonega” pressed juice for its sunny mix of pineapple, yellow pepper, lemon, ginger, and turmeric. If you’re in search of a breakfast with a little more substance, definitely give the 3:8 Special a try. This overnight oats selection includes antioxidant-heavy blueberries, heart-healthy oats, coconut yogurt, almond milk, maple syrup, lemon zest, chia seeds, and flax seeds. Talk about an AM pick-me-up!
