8 Can’t-Miss Events in Alpharetta this Autumn!

As the temps finally begin to drop and the leaves alight in copper and gold tones, the cozy sweaters and the PSLs come out in full force. But in Alpharetta, autumn is so much more than a blessed break from the scorching summer and an excuse to pumpkin spice all the things. Around here, we believe fall is a season perfect for celebrations of all sorts! From live music to costume contests, car shows to quirky festivals, autumn weekends are filled with ways to fall in love with Alpharetta.

Here are just a few of the fall-nomenal festivals and features in store this season:

1. Alpharetta Brew Moon Fest – September 28

Whether you’re a hop head or just ready to kick off festival season, this Downtown Alpharetta beer festival is sure to please! A Southeast Tourism Society Top 20 Event, Brew Moon Fest features a lively intersection of great food, delicious beer, and live tunes—all set in charming Downtown Alpharetta. Local fave (and locally made!) Jekyll Brewing will be on site pouring the good stuff, so all that’s left to do is show up thirsty and ready to rock! The event kicks off at 6:30 pm and the dancing in the street goes until 11 pm.

2. Scarecrow Harvest – October 5

Kick off the spookiest month with scarecrows galore in Downtown Alpharetta! Voted by Travel + Leisure as the best fall festival in the entire state of Georgia, Scarecrow Harvest boasts a bevy of scarecrows (over 100!) lining the charming streets of Downtown Alpharetta. Beyond the plaid-wearing keepers of the crop, you’ll find loads of free family entertainment including a DJ, fun inflatables, crow cornhole, face painting, food trucks, historical demos, artsy activities, captivating storytimes, and more! Scarecrow Harvest will be in a new location this year at Brooke Street Park from 10 am to 2 pm.

3. Atlanta International Night Market – October 4-6

Say “yes!” to treats beneath tents at the Atlanta International Night Market! This special event offers the very best of food, culture, and tradition on a totally global scale! Experience the wonder of worldwide cuisine, entertainment, and art—all in one convenient location at Alpharetta’s North Point Mall. Reminiscent of the experiences traditionally found in Asian cities like Hong Kong, Taipei, and Bangkok, the open-air bazaars experience has everything from hands-on, educational experiences to live fire dancing to delicious eats from around the world! The best part of globetrotting in Georgia? No passport necessary! The event runs from 5 pm – 12 am on Friday and Saturday nights and 3 – 9 pm on Sunday.

4. Festivals of Speed Avalon – October 6

Festivals of Speed Avalon offers a premier motorsport display showcasing the world’s most exotic cars, motorcycles, and luxury brands along Avalon’s lovely boulevards. Automotive designs by Lamborghini, Porsche, Ferrari, Rolls-Royce, Aston-Martin, Bentley, McLaren & more will shine in the autumnal sunlight, while guests enjoy a delightful selection of culinary offerings, fine wines and cocktails, smooth jazz, and so much more from 10 am to 4 pm. Sip and stroll while beholding the most stunning collection of vintage and contemporary automobiles ever to grace the roadways!

5. Wire & Wood Alpharetta Music Festival – October 11 and 12

From stripped-down alternative rock to soul-moving singer-songwriter vibes, the Wire & Wood Alpharetta Music Festival is back to deliver live sets from names you know, singers you love, and your new favorites waiting to be discovered. The two-day event lasts from 5 pm to 10 pm each day and is free to the public. Headliners G. Love and Special Sauce and Maggie Rose are sure to get you grooving, so show up early to get the best view for this behind-the-scenes glimpse at the stories behind the songs!

6. Trick or Drink at Avalon – October 25

What do adult ghosts drink? BOOS! Seriously – the Plaza at Avalon transforms into an adult Halloween extravaganza on October 25! From 6 pm to 9 pm, don your best costume, sip some seriously delicious spirits, and get your party ghoul on to some raucous live tunes at this free event. Forget the trick or treats—Avalon’s for ghastly grown-ups on this adult All Hallows Eve event!

7. Trick or Treat at Avalon – October 26

Rain or shine, bring the costumed kiddos out for candy and treats at Avalon’s spook-tacular take on Halloween October 26. Pick up a map at the Concierge Desk to check out what participating Avalon retailers will be offering up the goods to ghouls and gals, then scare and ‘til you drop from 10 am to Noon. Avalon shops will be passing out candy and treats, and you can even be entered to win a family fun prize package when you drop off your completed Trick or Treat Avalon Map back at the Concierge Desk when all the carousing has come to a close.

8. Alpharetta Women’s Half Marathon & 5K Race – November 3

The heart of Alpharetta beats with grace, strength, and speed with this year’s Women’s Half Marathon & 5K Race! Beginning at 7 am, participants will hit the ground running beginning on Avalon Blvd., then traverse the winding roads of Alpharetta to determine who will take home bragging rights for fastest woman in the Southeast! Whether you’re a runner looking to beat your best time, or you plan to cheer from the sidelines, the Alpharetta Women’s Half Marathon and 5K Race offers an exciting convergence of camaraderie and feminine physical prowess!
