These wooden soldiers are sponsored and personalized by local organizations and businesses and are all handmade by Nelson’s of Steubenville, Ohio. Be sure to snap a picture with each statue including the mad scientist, king, police officer, firefighter, chef, Revolutionary War soldier, nurse, doctor, two princes and an Uncle Drosselmeyer.
It’s not truly the holidays without a trip to the ice-skating rink! Avalon’s Rockefeller-inspired rink in the center of the community’s stores, restaurants, and holiday festivities offers a picture-perfect backdrop for adorable holiday shots, especially of the little ones. From November 24 to January 26, glide across the ice in the beautifully decorated Avalon Plaza. New skaters can lace up their skates and register for group or private skating lessons to get in some extra practice. After taking some action shots on the ice, warm up in one of Avalon’s many delicious restaurants, cafes or shops.
Downtown Alpharetta takes its charm to a new level during the holidays with the Season of Celebration event on Friday, December 6.
