Two Progressive Dinner Options in Alpharetta

February 2, 2017

When you are visiting a part of town that is a dining destination, which Alpharetta is quickly becoming, you want experience the most you can, right? So, I’ve put together two progressive dinner itineraries highlighting some of the best dining options in the city. Complimentary parking is easily found on many of the streets and government buildings throughout the week and on weekends. Make sure to make reservations when possible, as they are quite busy on weekends.

Progressive Dinner Along Main Street Alpharetta

Drinks at Ceviche Taqueria & Margarita Bar

This hopping taqueria is in the heart of Alpharetta with lots of outdoor seating. Choose from one of their dozen margaritas (I’d recommend the Hott & Skinny with Tanteo Jalapeno Infused Tequila) or choose a specialty cocktail like the Mojito or Moscow Mule.

Appetizers at Hop Alley Brew Pub

After you’ve wet your whistle over at Ceviche, head over to Hop Alley Brew Pub. The spot is known for their house made brews but they have unique appetizers that will be perfect after the drinks you’ve just had. Be adventurous with the Crispy Frog Legs or indulge with the Fried Cheese Curds. Don’t overdo it as you’ve still got main entrees to enjoy!

Entrees at Salt Factory Pub

This is a terrific spot when looking for something that will please a diverse group of diners. Here, you’ll find burgers, pizzas and wings. If looking for lighter fare, opt for Smoked Salmon Tostadas or the Blood Orange Glazed Salmon. However, I recommend the Shepherd’s Pie made with lamb.

Dessert at South Main Kitchen

Hopefully you’ve saved room for a sweet ending to your Alpharetta progressive dinner. You’ll enjoy the lovely décor at South Main Kitchen, which is best described as shabby chic. There aren’t a ton of desserts to choose from but quality is better than quantity in this case! Choose from items like the Key Lime Tart with watermelon sorbet. Or a Peach / Blackberry Crisp with black pepper vanilla bean ice cream. You may need to order a couple desserts if you’ve got more than two people.

Progressive Dinner Along Old Milton Parkway

Drinks at Firebirds Wood Fired Grill

While you’ll certainly want to try the tasty specialties at Firebirds in Alpharetta. The bar area is lively and a super start to a progressive dinner in Alpharetta. If you enjoy sweet drinks, get the Pineapple Martini, though my favorite is the Raspberry Moscow Mule.

Appetizers at Madras Chettinaad

If rich and savory food is something you enjoy, then dive right in to the appetizers at Madras Chettinaad. Though it may not look like much from the exterior, the inside is beautiful with well-appointed Indian art. For appetizers, get the Samosas, Spinach Pakoras or simply share one of their hearty Dosais. Their Indian beers are the perfect way to wash down those incredible dishes.

Entrees at Five Seasons Brewing Company

This brewpub’s food is quite upscale. A favorite menu item is the Coca Cola Glazed Duck Breast. This is served with a blueberry sweet and sour sauce. Salmon in a Thai Curry Sauce is delightful too. Want to end the night with a souvenir and take a beer home with you? No problem. Growlers are just $8.
