Summer Family Fun in Alpharetta

June 28, 2017

This summer, pack up the kids and head to Alpharetta, where endless activities and happenings beckon families to relax, unwind, get outside and explore. From learning new tricks at the Motorcycle Safety Foundation, to grabbing a bite from a local food truck, family fun in the sun is guaranteed!

School may be out, but summer is still a great time for learning new skills, and especially for having a blast while doing it. One-of-a-kind Alpharetta adventure awaits at the Motorcycle Safety Foundation, one of only three MSF campuses in the country and the only one in the Southeast. The Motorcycle Safety Foundation boasts a state-of-the-art facility where the entire family can ride and learn about proper motorcycle handling. The facility focuses on providing life-long safety education as well as training for riders of all experience levels. Courses in the Motorcycle Safety Foundation’s repertoire include: Basic Dirtbike School, Intermediate Trails Course, ATV Safety Institute, ATV RiderCourse, Street Bike Training, Dirt N’ the Skirt Course and Dirtbike Camp.

For more ways to enjoy the summer sunshine, wander Alpharetta’s more than 15 miles of trails. Visitors can experience even more of Alpharetta’s lush parks and paths via bike. Alpharetta proudly offers the Zagster bike share program where customers can unlock bike rentals using the Zagster smartphone app. Perfect for families, the first three hours are free! The more daring family members can check out the YMCA Ropes Course. The high course features a series of constructed, interactive components that are sure to both challenge and entertain.

Ensure an educational and reflective adventure by visiting the Walk of Memories. The only memorial of its kind in Georgia, the site pays tribute to U.S. veterans, family and friends through a walkway of nearly 8,000 bricks inscribed with the names of Georgians who have served our country. The whole family is sure to be enthralled with the WWII M60 tank, a Vietnam-era UH-1 Huey helicopter and more.

After your adventures, grab a bite to eat at Alpharetta Food Truck Alley, held every Thursday April through October from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Food trucks roll out and serve up delicious fare on Old Roswell Street each week. With activities such as bounce houses, sidewalk chalk and live much each week, Food Truck Alley is a perfect place to have an evening filed with family, food, and fun to satisfy everyone’s cravings.

Round up the kids and venture to Alpharetta, where an abundance of attractions and adventure await. For even more family fun, make it an awesome Alpharetta weekend! For information on where to stay, please visit
