We fueled up the car in Birmingham and hit the road heading over to a new territory called Alpharetta, Georgia.
After a surprisingly stress-free drive, we arrived at the Staybridge Suites. The staff was outstanding. The room was very accommodating with all appliances and comfortable beds for us both. The Staybridge also provided a bountiful breakfast each morning.
Saturday consisted of a late lunch at Smoke Jack BBQ and taking a few pics in the park across from the restaurant. Our first impression of Alpharetta was that it was beautiful. After lunch we headed over to Jekyll Brewing. We were provided with a customized beer tasting experience & take a fascinating tour of the brewery’s operations. It was an enjoyable experience. The brewery visit was followed by a trip to North Point Mall for shopping.
I was very excited to attend the Wire & Wood Songwriters Fest. The event featured some amazing songwriters from all over. Including a few national head liners. The headliner this year was John Oates of Hall and Oates. In between acts we decided to have a very light dinner around the corner at Smoke Jack BBQ….. again but returned just in time to get a great spot to see John Oates set.
On Sunday we were pooped so we slept pretty close to check out time. Our Sunday afternoon started out with a visit to
Top Golf , an amazing multi-level driving range. We ordered the chicken & waffle sliders and a flat bread for brunch. Everything was outstanding. Our attendant, Andre’ provided us with great service. We were provided with top notch service from the time we entered up until we left. I can’t wait to visit Top Golf again in the future.
Our final stop was Main Event Entertainment one of Alpharetta’s most exciting gaming and activity venues. The minute I saw the Pac Man game, I immediately turned into a 10 year old. We played endless video games, air hockey and even got in a game of bowling which is my all time favorite. We visited La Bella’s pizza parlor inside of Main Event for refreshments. The manager allowed us to sample the different flavors of gelato. After a few hours of gaming, it was time to hit the road.
Thank you to the Alpharetta Convention & Visitors Bureau, Smoke Jack BBQ, Top Golf, Main Event, Staybridge Suites and the organizers of the Wire & Wood Music Festival for sponsoring our Fun & Games weekend. It allowed my brother and I to be kids again. Thanks Alpharetta, You’re Awesome!

“We went to the concert [at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park] and it was awesome. But, I just wanted to tell you your town is beautiful and everyone was so nice. We stayed at the Hyatt suites and everything was wonderful. We could not have asked for a more peaceful or wonderful trip. The amphitheater is one of the most wonderful places that I have ever seen a concert. Hat’s off to you and your community.”

“The Alpharetta Convention and Visitors Bureau has assisted me over the last four years to grow my event into one of the top of its kind in the country. The ACVB team works with enthusiasm, kindness, and integrity; while exemplifying a quality business and community. This company’s model and website should be replicated around the country. Their efforts continue to contribute to the betterment of the City of Alpharetta its residents and visitors alike”.
“It has been my pleasure working with the Alpharetta Convention and Visitors Bureau during the last six to seven months. They have been fantastic…. I want to thank you for your hospitality and willingness to work with me and my organization.”
“I wanted to thank you all personally for a wonderful experience this week-end and the hard work you have put into making this a special event for all the family. The smile on our 6 year-old son’s face (Matteo) after each finish line was everything we hoped for and signed up for! He was not a finalist or winner but he was a great sport and loved participating. He (and the rest of us) are motivated to train for the next triathlon (kids and adults). We spent the night in Alpharetta and got to drive the fast cars at Andretti (courtesy of the contest!) and then ate at Joe’s Crab Shack. Great fun! We’ll be back to visit Alpharetta soon. Thanks again!!!”
