For the Kid in You

Start your day at Froots where you can order a delicious and healthy smoothie or breakfast wrap before beginning your high energy day.

Next, visit The Ed Isakson/Alpharetta Family YMCA for your morning workout.  Try one of the exercise classes, take a swim in the indoor pool or scale the climbing wall to shake up your fitness routine.  If you’re not a YMCA member, just ask for a guest pass.

For runners, walkers, bikers or skaters, Big Creek Greenway offers 6.1 miles of paved track, a .75 mile well-done wood chip path, and a multi-use mountain bike and hiking trail, all meandering through a flood plain formed by Big Creek.  If you’re a biker, stop by for a tune up or trade in at Roswell Bikes, named one of the Top 100 Bike Shops in the nation with customer service that is second to none.

For a light lunch, try Sweet Tomatoes by the mall or Rising Roll Gourmet on Haynes Bridge, a family owned business offering a wide variety of freshly made sandwiches, salads and soups.

Head over to Grand Slam Sports Center and spend some time in the baseball batting and pitching cages or get some individualized or group instruction.  This great indoor facility is also available for kickball, flag football and soccer.

A great stop for kids large and small is Wills Park where you can run or walk on the 1.5 mile trail, enjoy a game of disc golf and play at Wacky World, a unique outdoor playground that kids from all over rave about.

For pure family fun, you can’t beat Alpharetta’s Family Skate Center, The Cooler, where you can choose ice skating or roller skating under one roof.  Since you’ll be really hungry after all of the day’s activities, go next door to Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen for some fabulous New Orleans style food.

And if you haven’t had enough play for one day, you might head on over to Andretti Indoor Karting and Games and get the ride of your life on one of the 40 state-of the-art RIMO karts powered by Honda.  Wow!
